Our Beliefs

As Seventh Day Christians, a people chosen by God in this "Eleventh Hour" (Matthew 20: 9) of the history of this earth, "to proclaim the virtues of Him who called us out of darkness into His marvelous light" (1 Pet. 2: 9); We believe that the Bible is the only standard of Christian faith and conduct.

The Old and New Testaments, infallible as they were originally delivered, were inspired by God and are a complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men and women. The same constitute the divine and only rule of the Christian practice, the written Word of God, transmitted by divine inspiration through holy men of God who spoke and wrote

impelled by the Holy Spirit. God was the one who inspired the prophets to bring by their

means His Word.

And consequently, as the property of Jesus Christ, we accept that we can obey God's

command in His Word perfectly, with His help. (See: 2 Peter 1:20; 2 Timothy 3:15-16;

Hebrews 4:12; 11:1; Ps. 119:105; Prov. 30:5, 6; Isa. 8:20; 1 Thessalonians 2:13 and  John 17:17).

God like three co-eternal Persons, the Trinity: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit

The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit is the unity of three coeternal people. (Lucas. 3.21-22; Matthew 28:19; 2                                                                             Corinthians 13:14) Therefore, there is only one God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, a unit of three coeternal people. As Paul says in Hebrews 9:14: " How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?" You can see the participation of each one of the members of the Trinity in many Biblical circumstances from Genesis all through the Book of Revelation. Firstly, the Trinity appears in the creation of the world: Genesis 1:1-3; Deuteronomy 32:6; John 1:1-3, 14; Colossians 1:6. In addition, Jesus speaks of the Holy Spirit: Matthew 12:32. The Trinity also appears in the baptism and anointing of Christ: Matthew 4: 17; Luke 3:21-22; 2 Peter 1:17. In testifying: 1 John 5:7. In the handing out of the spiritual gifts: 1 Corinthians 12:4, 7-10. Etc. It is true that the Old Testament does not explicit or teach that God is triune, but it is also true that It refers to a plurality within the Deity. That is why in certain places God uses plurals, such as: "Let Us make man in our image" (Gen. 1:26); "Behold the man is like one of us" (Gen. 3:22); “Let us go down" (Gen. 11:7). For example, it is revealing that the gospel of the disciple John reveals that the Deity consists in a unity of three co-eternal people, linked by a very special relationship: God the Father (John chap. 3), God the Son (chap. 4) and God the Holy Spirit (chap. 5).

God's Father

God the Father is immortal, omnipotent, omniscient, and above everything. He is infinite and beyond human                                                                                understanding, although He is known by His revelation of Himself in the person of the Son. God the eternal Father is                                                                  the Creator, Originator, Sustainer and Sovereign of all creation. He is eternally worthy of praise, adoration and                                                                              service for all of His creation. (Genesis 1:1; Deuteronomy 6:4; Deuteronomy 29:29; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Ephesians 4:4-6; 1 Peter 1:2; 1 Timothy 1:17; Revelation 4:11; 14:6 and 7; 1 Cor. 15:28; John 3:16; 1 John 4:8; 1 Tim. 1:17: Ex. 34:6, 7; John 14:9).

God's Son

God the Son, the eternal one, the Creator of the worlds, in whom the fullness of the Deity was manifested, became                                                                      the powerless Child in the crib. He was incarnated in Jesus Christ. That through Him and for Him, created all things;                                                                    on His coming, revealed the character of God, that unity; has always been at the forefront of the salvation of                                                                                humanity and the Father gave all the judgment of the world to Him. Voluntarily, Jesus suffered and died on the cross for our sins instead of each one born on this earth, He rose from the dead on the third day and ascended, "but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place" (Hebrews 9:12) to minister in the heavenly sanctuary in favor of us. He will return for the second time in glory, to free "those who hope in Him" and to “restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.” (Acts 3:21). (See: John 1:1-3, 14; Col. 1:15-19; John 10:30; 14:9; Rom. 6:23; 2 Cor. 5:17-19; John 5:22; Luke. 1:35; Phil. 2:5-11; Heb. 2:9-18; 1 Cor. 15:3, 4; Heb. 8:1, 2; John 14:1-3; Eph. 3:9; Heb. 1:2).

God's Holly Espirit

God the Holy Spirit, the eternal one, played an active part with the Father and the Son in the creation, in the                                                                                incarnation, and redemption. Inspiring the authors of the Scriptures, giving power to the life of Christ, attracting and                                                                  convincing human beings, and renewing those that respond and transforms them in the image of God is the work                                                                      of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit gives spiritual gifts to the church. (See: Gen. 1:1, 2; Luk. 1:35; 4:18; Matthew 12:32; Matthew 4: 17, 17; Luke 3:21-22; John 5:7; 1 Corinthians 12:4,7-10; Peter 1:17; Acts. 10:38; 2 Pet. 1:21; 2 Cor. 3:18; Eph. 4:11, 12; Acts. 1:8; John 14:16-18, 26; 15:26, 27; 16:7-13).

Communication or speaking with God

The members of the Seventh Day church are observers of the seventh day; hence our name. And we believe that                                                                        the best form of communication with God is through prayer, the study of the Word of God, the Bible, and the                                                                              assistance to the services of the church; as well as to attend the households and groups of the church, where one                                                                      prays, God is worshiped and there is study of the Word. Prayer consists of "pouring out one’s soul before the Lord.” (1 Samuel 1:15); Prayer is the act of opening our hearts to God as when we do to a friend. As the prophet Daniel did, we must pray at least three times a day in search of His presence; starting each morning. From such communion and communication, you can go out and tell "the great things that the Lord has done for you" (Mark 5:19) and for me. Testimonies are the natural result of this communion; and as a habit in the life of every believer. This topic is very important, so we believe, do and teach the aforementioned. All the time, God will communicate with us, His servants; He says, "Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, the Lord will make me known in a vision, and I will speak unto him in a dream" (Numbers 12: 6). (See: Genesis 1:28; 17:22; 35:11; Exodus 31:18; 34:35; Numbers 7:89; 1 Kings 3:5; Judges 6:12; Ezek. 44:5).

Creation and the Creator

God is the Creator of all things and He revealed in Scripture the authentic story of His creative activity. The Lord                                                                         made in six literal days "the heavens and the earth", and all the living beings who inhabit it, and He rested on the                                                                       seventh day of the first week. (See: Gen. 1; 2; Ex. 20:8-11; Ps. 19:1-6; 33:6, 9; 104; Heb. 11:3). So then, Saturday is the                                                                 memorial of the creation. So that we can have a weekly reminder of the fact that we are creatures of His hands, God established the Seventh-day Sabbath for that purpose. Saturday resulted in a gift of grace, which expresses what God did, not what we have done. The Creator especially blessed this day, rested in it next to the couple and sanctified it, so that we never forget that life also includes, in addition to the labor.

  1. Communion with the Creator

  2. Rest and

  3. The celebration of the marvelous works of the creation of God (Gen. 2:2, 3).

In order to emphasize the importance of this day, the Creator laced in the center of His moral law, saying: "Remember," of this sacred monument of His creative power, 1. As an eternal signal 2. A symbol of the creation The Nature of Man and Woman According to the Biblical record, God made man and woman in His image with their own individuality, and with freewill; that is to say, with the capability and the freedom to think and act. Despite being created as free beings, each one constitutes an indivisible unity of body, mind and spirit, dependent on God.

  1. For life

  2. Breath and

  3. Everything else that day, our first parents disobedient to God, denied their dependence on Him and fell from an elevated position to the one of slaves to Satan and sin.

Disappearing from them the divine image, being then subject to death. We, as their descendants, happen to participate of this fallen nature. Now, we are born with weaknesses and tendencies towards evil. But God, in Christ, has reconciled the world with Himself and by His Holy Spirit, restored in the penitent mortals the image of their Maker. Created, again, for the glory of God, they are called:

  1. To love Him

  2. To love one another, and

  3. To take care of the environment that surrounds us (See: Gen. 1:26-28; 2:7; Ps. 8:4-8; Acts. 17:24-28; Gen. 3; Ps. 5:15; Rom. 5:12-17; 2 Cor. 5:19, 20; Ps. 51:10; 1 John 4:7, 8, 11, 20; Gen. 2:15).

Christ, His Life, Death and Resurrection

The life of Christ was the perfect obedience to the will of God, and by the means of His suffering, His death and His                                                                   resurrection, God provided the only means to expiate or purify the human sin; for those who by faith in Him accept                                                                 this atonement, may have eternal life; and all creation can better understand the infinite and holy love of the Creator. Such perfect atonement of sin vindicates the justice not only the law of God, but also the benignity in His immaculate character. For once and for all, the death of Christ was, is and will be vicarious/ substitute and expiatory; because it reconciles and transforms those who by faith accept it. And the resurrection of Christ proclaims the victory of God over Satan and the forces of evil and ensures the final and total victory over sin and death to those who accept such atonement. This sets the eternal lordship of Christ. Amen. (See: John 3:16; Isa. 53; 1 Pet. 2:21, 22; 1 Cor. 15:3, 4, 20-22; 2 Cor. 5:14, 15, 19-21; Rom. 1:4; 3:25; 4:25; 8:3, 4; 1 John 2:2; 4:10; Col. 2:15; Phil. 2:6-11).
